I made a green tomato pie two years ago, at the request of a friend. Had never heard of this before, and we were practically fighting over it!
Was one of the best pies I had ever tried!
And it does taste like a great apple pie...

O.K. then: Two green tomato pies and MOST of my tomatoes have been used up: right after BLT's tomorrow!
Gave two bags to the neighbors, who didn't get many tomatoes this year! Thanks, Lord
Ever had Concord or Malaga Grape Pies? Amazing.
No. I revived a grape vine that was on this property, that everyone had been intent on destroying, but do not know what grape it is. We used to grow Concords as a child, but never had them in a pie. Sounds good, actually
Use a search engine for grape pies. There is an annual grape festival in Naples, NY. Maybe do a search on that too, for grape pies and other grape treats.
Abby, welcome. Yes, it sure does sound good! I haven't had time today to look for grape pie info, but hopefully, this evening. I have tasted a fried grape pie, years ago, and have a vague recollection of ... awesome!
